My virtual friends help me connect with a vast number of people who share my goals and desires. However, the fact that only a small fraction of individuals actually make progress is disappointing. I could have easily been one of those people who work all day on someone else’s dream, but I was fortunate enough to be able to break out of that pattern. What is the key? The key point is what you choose to do with our free time after work during the golden hours of the evening. In this blog, we will discuss the six steps you can take today to live a better life.
My motivation comes from the thought that I can make a difference in the lives of others, yet sometimes I feel that time is flying by too fast and my efforts are in vain. Now, anytime I bring up this topic, a group of people always warn me about the risks of burnout. Nonetheless, the key takeaway is that burnout is preventable if you are passionate about what you do. All you have to do is set aside some evening time to pursue your passion or favorite activity. You ought to make some changes if you are tired of going through the same old boring routine every day and if you wish you had some direction in life.
Keep your day job while working on a side project
There are a lot of people who are terrified of their bosses. However, if one employer fires you, there will always be another one available. There are a ton of open positions in your area that are just itching to be filled because so few people are drawn to the traditional nine-to-five workday. Put an end to the cliché that says, “Graduate, get a good job, then retire at 65 with a gold watch and a heart attack.” This is a joke. Yes.
My best decision to date was to launch a side project after work. Give that some thought. Success? That is a slow burn, for sure. However, after a while, I stopped being a mechanical being and began to perceive the world in a different way.
You can choose to be afraid or to take action to overcome it. The true shift isn’t becoming an overnight sensation with a million followers or earning seven figures while reading on a laptop on a beach somewhere. The real victory is the mindset shift. Your ideas about who you are and what you can achieve begin to change. That is what reveals there is more out there and breaks free from the confines of the regular office routine.
Write without a second thought
The work notifications stop around 7 in the evening. You could use this time to write instead of wasting time watching another boring season of a superhero you will never be. I discovered that when I was writing in my free time, I generated the best ideas. It helped me understand my limitations and helped me process my life. I was compelled to transform my ideas into concepts that would benefit total strangers since I wrote in public on the internet.
In spite of your desire to become angry, you can write in a private journal to express your worries, feel angry, become vulnerable, or ask philosophical questions you will never be able to answer. Writing in public is not the same as writing alone. You have to give value and purpose to the work you do. If not, nobody will ever read whatever you write.
People are discouraged from writing in the evening because they believe they must be experts, unique, or lead a lavish life that is fraught with controversy and mystery. In actuality, sharing tales and lessons is really all that is required to develop a following of devoted readers. Relatability is more significant than virality.
Think back on the day that you had
Many people find it difficult to make progress in life because their own thoughts prevent them from doing so. They get bogged down in their daily routines rather than taking proactive steps to improve their circumstances.
The secret to gaining insightful knowledge is reflection. “What didn’t go well today, and what was great?” is a clear strategy that I find useful. This technique may not produce much at first, but after a while—usually within ninety days or so—you begin to see patterns. This displays your true desires for your life. Aim to minimize the things that bring you down and to add more amazing events to your day.
If you do not pause to think things through, your experiences become meaningless and fragmented. It is how a life devoid of meaning comes to pass.
Read a book of your choice for thirty minutes
Hey, if spending thirty minutes reading a book that piques your interest is what you do best, then go for it. People who are successful in any field are typically readers. That should come as no surprise. The problem is that most motivational speeches about reading go something like this: “Read 1000 books this year or you are slacking.” Ignore that chatter, especially from self-help experts advocating for cold baths. A consistent reading habit is one that you can maintain. 30 minutes per day? Completely feasible. It won’t take up all of your time, but reading exposes you to fresh ideas and viewpoints, which is why it is important.
It bursts your bubble and exposes you to new concepts. It may surprise you to learn that many people rarely read, especially after school. Sad, but accurate. As a result of this, spending time watching Netflix is extremely popular. Consider this: What precisely are you doing if you are not learning? Most likely just mindlessly ingesting information to pass the time. Although your brain is hungry for information, if all that you are giving it is Netflix dopamine hits, it will settle with that.
Make it a habit to read for thirty minutes every evening. People are going to take notice of you. You will increase in value. You will become an automated learning system. You will be invincible. You may even begin to seem pretty darn exceptional, too. Doesn’t it sound too good to be true? Actually, I sometimes spend thirty minutes reading beyond seven o’clock in the evening. It has the potential to make me seem special and set me apart from the usual, even though all I am is a lazy lad with no special abilities.
Therefore, read.
Read one nasty social media post
It may seem strange to read posts from individuals you despise, but there are benefits to it. It pushes the boundaries of your thinking and opens your eyes to new possibilities. You will become blind to the opinions of people who do not differ from your own and end up living in a bubble. Another compelling argument is that rage may be an effective form of energy. I get excited when I read things written by people with whom I strongly disagree. This enthusiasm fuels my work, and it can do the same for yours.
Thus, don’t be afraid to express divergent opinions. Allow yourself to become furious, then channel that emotion into piqued interest. Just try to see yourself on the other side of the political spectrum. You may even come to the realization that the people you hate are not all that dissimilar from you.
Begin tonight to get ready for tomorrow
We have a lot of duties and activities planned for our days, right? After all, who is not busy these days? The problem is that, particularly after working hours, we become overwhelmed by everything going on if we don’t effectively manage our time. We feel as though all we can do is relax on the couch or divert our attention with a TV show after a long day.
This is a tip, so why not create a list of things to do now and avoid waiting till tomorrow to figure out what has to get done? Examine your schedule and see what is scheduled. What can I give up? What is the most important thing I should be concentrating on right now? Though it may sting a little, cut as much fat as you can. You now have a rough strategy that doesn’t depend solely on chance for tomorrow.
The final word
A lack of direction in life can make it seem like a nightmare. It is necessary to understand where you are right now in the journey you are on. It is not possible to achieve instantaneous changes. On the other hand, you can make big changes in your life by starting with little steps in the evening. Utilize the time you have in the evening wisely. The good effects it can have on your life may surprise you. What is the most beneficial thing you do after your golden hours? Please share in the comments.
